New TUTU

Upcycling a too-small baby skirt into new and kicky

Scout had a 12 month skirt that I loved but she's nearing two and it's time to give it away.  Or I could be selfish, keep it and make her wear a really too short skirt.

   OR...

I could cut out the built-in spanky pants/diaper cover- shorts things (those were the part that made it too skinny for her) and sew on some extra layers of tulle underneath to give it the length she needs.

Start by flipping skirt inside out. You'll be working at the hem.
Pick out a selection of slightly related fabrics. I went for some tulle and organza.
Pin into place making it pucker.
